Romeo: Character Summary

Romeo is the romantic, impulsive protagonist of Romeo and Juliet. A Montague by birth, he is initially infatuated with Rosaline, but quickly falls deeply in love with Juliet, his family’s enemy. His passion and idealism drive both the romance and the tragedy of the play.
